Gunes Akseki was born in  Izmir, Turkey in 1976. He studied at the Istanbul Anatolian High School of Fine arts and Istanbul Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts and received BFA from Istanbul Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in 1999.
Since his solo exhibition at Osman Hamdi exhibition Hole at Mimar Sinan 1999, his work has been shown at group exhibitions sculpture symposiums and art festivals.
Akseki is known for his monumental symbolic sculpture Male& Female (2012) have been shown at New York City Art Expo.

Akseki explores the nature of shape, space and forms through classical material and digital media. His Exploration into the nature of reality through art forms depicts an exquisite dance of emptiness becoming form, form is becoming emptiness. His approach to the creation process starts with an idea, shape, symbol and he travels back and forth to cross over to bring his forms to perfection.
